How do I add a new card to the worksheet?
You can either replace any of the sample cards that are already in the template, or you can delete those. You can always use any of the blank rows in the sheet, which are marked with “Add…” prompts to help guide you on the initial information to enter.
Where do I get the credit card information?
You will need to enter your card information manually. Simply reference the card details on the card issuer’s website or app, any physical mailer or advertisement, or specific card details you received for a card you opened. Always take note of the date you applied for a new card, as the bank will not always make this information obvious.
How Do I change the status of a card?
When you are on one of the card tabs (personal or business), see the “Status” column. You can change the status of a card at any time by clicking the dropdown selection: Tentative (for comparing cards), New (for active sign-up bonuses), Open (for ongoing active cards), To be closed (for non-renewal reminders), Closed (for any closed accounts). The row formatting will update automatically.
What is the Chase 5/24 rule?
Chase 5/24 is an application rule based on the number of personal cards you have opened with any card issuer within the last 24 months. Opening business cards does not count toward your 5/24 status, but Chase will deny personal or business applications when your status is 5/24 or higher.
What information is required for spreadsheet automation?
In order for certain formulas in the spreadsheet to work, the following information is required: Card issuer, Card name, Card status, Open date, and Annual fee. All other card detail fields provided are for reference, comparison, and tracking.
Is there an Excel spreadsheet version?
No, we didn’t create this spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel. We focused on creating a Google Sheets version only because anyone can have access to it from anywhere.
